  • Where is Core Studios Sydney located?

    We are located at 2/17 Burwood Road, Burwood NSW 2134.

  • What age groups do you teach?

    We offer programs for children ages 3.5 and up. Our programs include Explorers (ages 3.5-4.5), MiniCore (ages 4-6), and Core Program levels (Primer, Endeavour, and Mastery) for older and more advanced students.

  • Which instruments do you teach?

    We offer lessons in piano, guitar, violin, and vocals. Our program is designed to develop foundational skills across all these instruments, allowing students to grow and progress in their chosen focus.

  • How do I know which program is right for my child?

    During your initial call with us, we’ll discuss your child’s age, skill level, and goals to place them in the program that best suits their needs. We offer different programs tailored for each stage, from beginners to advanced students.

  • What is the Explorers program?

    The Explorers program is designed for children ages 3.5 to 4.5 and introduces them to music through fun, hands-on activities across multiple instruments. It’s a 20-week, 45-minute group class focused on sparking curiosity and building early musical skills.

  • What is the MiniCore program?

    MiniCore is for children ages 4 to 6 and combines 30 minutes of group learning with 30 minutes of private instruction. It focuses on rhythm, basic skills, and confidence-building in a friendly, supportive environment.

  • What is the Core Program, and what are the different levels?

    The Core Program is structured in stages:

    Primer: For beginners, covering foundational skills.

    Endeavour: For intermediate students, focusing on AMEB and Rock School exam preparation.

    Mastery: For advanced students ready for high-level theory, technique, and performance training.

  • Do you follow a specific curriculum or syllabus?

    Yes, we follow the AMEB syllabus for theory and exams. Our program is structured to support each student’s growth, with regular performance opportunities and skill-building activities.

  • How much does the Core Program cost?

    The Core Program is $360 per month + GST. This all-inclusive fee covers all lessons, resources, and performance opportunities. Discounts are available for full-year commitments.

  • Are there any additional fees?

    The monthly fee is all-inclusive. There are no additional fees for resources, concerts, or materials provided by Core Studios.

  • Do you offer any discounts?

    Yes, if you commit to a full year, you receive a month free, reducing the overall cost by $360.

  • How does billing work?

    Billing occurs on the 1st of each month, covering all lessons and resources for that term. We use a term-based billing structure, meaning each month’s payment contributes to the full cost of the term’s lessons.

  • Can I pay for a single term or by the year?

    Yes, you can choose to pay monthly or for a full term or year. For annual commitments, we offer a one-month discount.

  • . What happens if I need to pause my child’s lessons?

    If you need to pause lessons, please contact us to discuss options. We aim to be as accommodating as possible with life changes.

  • What happens if my child misses a lesson?

    If your child misses a lesson, you can schedule a make-up group lesson within seven days. Just contact us at admin@corestudiossydney.com to arrange a suitable time.

  • Can we schedule make-up lessons for private sessions?

    Our make-up policy covers group lessons only. For one-on-one sessions, we assign relevant homework to keep students on track if they miss a lesson.

  • How can I support my child’s practice at home?

    We provide guided journals, practice videos, and regular feedback to help students build effective practice routines. You’ll also receive termly reports and progress updates to stay connected to their learning journey.

  • How do I know how my child is progressing?

    Our teachers provide regular feedback, and you’ll receive termly reports from both private and group instructors. Additionally, you can access our student portal for weekly updates and video summaries.

  • Do you host performances or concerts?

    Yes! We hold two main concerts each year—a mid-year recital and an end-of-year Christmas concert. These events give students a chance to perform on stage, build confidence, and celebrate their progress.

  • Are there opportunities for informal performances?

    Yes, we offer classroom showcases throughout the year to give students regular, low-pressure opportunities to perform in front of their peers.

  • Are performances mandatory?

    Performances are highly encouraged but not mandatory. We find that participation helps build confidence and pride, but we respect each child’s comfort level.

    Yes, our Core Program includes preparation for AMEB and Rock School exams, particularly in the Endeavour and Mastery stages.
